Info on MRSA and Influenza Vaccine

A few questions regarding the MRSA virus have surfaced from the Early Learning field. In response, the following info may be shared with them.
Feel free to include the info in your newsletters or e-mails to
practitioners.

The link that seems to be most supported by the Department of Health as well as ECELS/PA AAP is the CDC website. It outlines the specifics about MRSA that are particularly relevant. - http://www.cdc.gov/Features/MRSAinSchools/

Another resource is the DOH link -
Concerns About Toys

Concerns About Toys
From ExchangeEveryDay
Date: August 21, 2007
In recent weeks toy giant Mattel has recalled over 10 million toys made in China due to a variety of safety concerns. This high-profile recall has raised the anxiety level among both parents and early childhood professionals about the toys children are currently playing with at home and at the center.
This article can be viewed in its entirety in the "Exchange Ideas for You – FREE" section on the Exchange web site, www.ChildCareExchange.com. To print this article in a checklist format, click on the PDF button in the upper right-hand corner. Here, for example, are some of the criteria Wardle proposes for consideration…
